Make an Appointment

Check out the “Our Services” tab to consider where you might start with our Center based on your current needs.

To schedule an appointment, please considering the following options:

  1. Call 252-328-6661 anytime during normal business hours (Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.). Please have your Banner ID ready when calling. It is important to let the front office assistants know if you are in high distress so we can best accommodate your needs.
  2. If you prefer online scheduling, limited consultation appointments (for initiating services, seeking crisis/urgent support, or other questions) are available with our urgent support counselors by clicking this link.
  3. Visit the center at 137 Umstead Building for an in-person brief consultation appointment (for initiating services, seeking crisis/urgent support, or other questions).

Please note: CCSD will stop taking calls to schedule new treatment appointments at 4:00 p.m. each day. Crisis Services are available at any time by calling 252-328-6661.

If you are 15 or more minutes late to your appointment, you will be asked to reschedule. There is a $25 fee assessed on your tuition bill as a “Student Health Services fee” for any missed appointments where you do not cancel or reschedule.

If you want counseling but decide to not use CCSD, we offer Uwill as an alternative. Click here for more information on Uwill and to get started.

Eligibility for Services

Our services are available at no additional cost to enrolled students who have paid the student health service fee. For questions about eligibility, please call 252-328-6661.

Is CCSD right for me?

We provide individual counseling within a short-term therapeutic model, with most students attending 4-5 sessions. Short-term counseling can be beneficial to students experiencing challenges in the following areas:

  • Personal: stress, anxiety, depression, anger, loneliness, grief, guilt, self-esteem, emotion regulation, substance use, impulse control, effects of trauma, body image
  • Relational: interpersonal communication, romantic relationship difficulties, sexual concerns, roommate problems, family concerns, interpersonal violence, harassment, stalking
  • Developmental: identity, adjustment to college/life transitions, concerns from childhood and/or adolescence
  • Academic: performance anxiety, perfectionism, underachievement, low motivation

If you are unsure if our services are right for you, we encourage you to come in and meet with a same-day screening counselor to help you determine what options are available.
